We remain committed to providing open communication about our response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how it is affecting our communities. Our priority will always be to first share information with residents, families and our team members. We will also share Community Reports regularly on our website.

The following is an update on our COVID-19 cases.

We have no active resident cases of COVID-19.
Earlier this week, two residents receiving care in our Designated Care/Cohorting Areas (DCAs) after testing positive for COVID-19 were discharged. They are now considered recovered and have returned home to their own suite.

We have two active employee cases of COVID-19.
We have had a total of six team members diagnosed with COVID-19. Each worked at a separate location. Four team members have recovered. One team member from Drummond Hall, a private retirement living community in Halifax, N.S., and one team member from Arborstone Enhanced Care, a licensed long term care community in Halifax, NS, are currently out of the workplace and self-isolating at home. We are pleased to report that none of the six employee cases resulted in transmission of the virus to residents or other employees.

We continue to evolve our COVID-19 response with extensive protection measures in place including daily temperature checks for team members and twice daily temperature checks for residents, masks for all team members, appropriate use of PPE, enhanced cleaning, physical distancing and visitor restrictions. We have also prepared designated care/cohorting areas with dedicated staffing for residents with COVID-19 should they be required.

We have more than 4,500 dedicated and compassionate team members who work on the front lines serving our nearly 4,300 residents in more than 50 residences every day. These exceptional team members continue to have the full support of their operational management teams and our COVID-19 Response Team. Together, they have been successful in limiting the spread of COVID-19, but we remain vigilant and continue to work together to protect residents with ongoing support from our partners at Public Health, the health authorities, Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, New Brunswick Department of Social Development and our union partnerships.
