Update: March 10, 2020

Shannex has implemented its Pandemic Plan and continues to actively monitor information being released about the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
While the risk remains low in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario, the international situation is changing quickly and our priority is the health and safety of all residents and team members.
At the direction of the Pandemic Response Team, our communities are now implementing visitor and employee screening protocols to protect residents and employees.
Beginning immediately, visitors to any Shannex, Parkland and Faubourg locations:

1. Must be close family members
AND
2. Must be free of respiratory symptoms
(fever, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath)
AND
3. Must not have travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days

Decisions related to visitor restrictions are based on direction provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada and provincial Public Health bodies.
Questions related to Shannex’s pandemic preparedness can be directed to ipac@shannex.com or a member of the management team at your Shannex, Parkland or Faubourg community.
Frequent hand washing with soap and warm water remains the best defense against the spread of respiratory illnesses. You can also limit the spread of illness by following these simple practices.

  • Wash hands often
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow
  • If you use a tissue, dispose of it as soon as possible and wash your hands
