For Justine Newman, physiotherapy is about connection as much as care. Originally from Staffordshire, England, she found her way to Cape Breton not through a job offer, but through family, salt air and an East Coast lifestyle. Now a Regional Physiotherapist with Shannex, Justine leads a team supporting over 300 residents at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Celtic Court, and Kiknu in Eskasoni. What fuels her is the human side of care: birthdays, shared stories, and everyday milestones. “It’s beyond clinical, it’s about helping people live well in a broader sense.” Her colleagues share that spirit, often gathering outside work to celebrate both residents and each other.
